Context Manager ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

What We Collect

Desktop App Analytics

When you use the Context Manager desktop app, we collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the product:

  • Anonymous device identifier (randomly generated, not linked to you)
  • App version and platform (macOS)
  • Feature usage events (e.g., sessions resumed, branches switched)
  • Error reports to help us fix bugs

We do not collect: your code, session contents, file paths, project names, or any personally identifiable information.

Email Address

We collect your email address for:

  • Licensing - To verify Pro license purchases and manage your subscription status
  • Newsletter - Product announcements (optional, you can unsubscribe anytime)

Payment Information

If you purchase Context Manager Pro, payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe handles all payment information in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

How We Use Your Data

  • Verify Pro license purchases and manage entitlements
  • Improve app features based on usage patterns
  • Identify and fix bugs and crashes
  • Send product updates (email subscribers only)

We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

Opting Out of Analytics

You can disable analytics at any time in the app's Settings panel. When disabled, no usage data is sent to our servers.

Data Retention

  • Analytics data - Retained for 12 months, then automatically deleted
  • License data - Retained for the lifetime of your license to enable entitlement verification
  • Newsletter emails - Retained until you unsubscribe

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Opt out of analytics collection (in-app setting)
  • Request deletion of your email and license data from our systems
  • Request a refund within 30 days of purchase (contact support)
  • Request information about data we hold about you
